Found a Stick Today

We found a stick today (actually it was yesterday). The sun was shining, a gorgeous near 60 degree day. Jaime and I decided to take a stroll through our surrounding woods with the camera to see what we could find of interest. There is always something happening in the woods.

We saw that the dried up creek beds were filling with the winter thaw of the ground. That was fun for Jaime as she had just gotten some high fashion water galoshes to go splashing around in. Give her a mud hole and she's a happy camper. The bed of the woods is covered with fallen leaves from fall. We have been raking and making trails to refurbish our woods. We also came on broken limbs from trees that were clean as a whistle, cleaned of all their bark. Jaime and I have been collecting these for later uses.

As we strolled through nature we came upon this enormous tree which was still firmly anchored in the ground. Must be nearing 30ft. tall. The amazing thing with this one is that it was cleaned right up to the tip. Who or what could have cleaned it so smooth to that height? Truly amazing and exciting (at least for us nature hounds). We removed the tree from the woods and carefully maneuvered it through the trails making our way back to the yard. How exciting to see this so clean. Of course, we had to take a snapshot.

God loves it when we get excited and enthused over his magnificent works. That we can take pleasure and find Joy in the riches He gives us daily.

It's been so cold here in Metter, GA (to my surprise) that it has been difficult to endure any quality time outside. I think we were getting cabin fever and developing a sense of apathy.

Change the picture and it transforms our thinking. Put the jackets and gloves on and head outdoors into the world He has created for us. God gives us these things daily. We sometimes need to go on a treasure hunt and discover all He gives us. Thank you God for giving us a stick today.
