Creating Artful Adventures for 2015

This year is coming to a close. Are you creating Artful Adventures for 2015?
You are taking a train which travels the globe. Where would you like to go? There are a few things you will need in preparation for an exciting new year of success. Do you have your boarding pass?


1) Have a specific website for your art. This will tell your audience that you are serious about your work.

2) Business cards to hand out to everyone you meet. I use mini cds displaying a slide show of my work.

3) If you have a smart phone develop an app which points directly to your art site. Using your phone as a selling tool.
 
4) Accept credit card payments directly from your phone using a square reader. Catch every sale you can.

5) If you decide to go on the artfair circuit. Begin lining up your shows now.

6) Do you participate in any art organizations?

7) Utilize social media. Be careful not to let that consume you and take you away from your creative flow.

Henny Penny Easter Chickens-Free Pattern Crochet

The pattern for these cute little hens is available for free on another site, however I wasn't able to translate the page to English. So I did my best to interpret the pattern in English using the photograph provided. This pattern is worked in the round. The Flora Project

Flora the Book Promotion  Good morning everyone and Happy Spring! I've recently accepted a commission to create a doll to  represent the character of the book "Flora". I've been tasked with making 25 dolls to go with the book. Flora doll While making these dolls I thought I would share with you some design tips in crochet with what I've learned while making these dolls. Unfortunately I can't share the pattern itself but I can share some do's and don't(s) which may make your design projects go a bit more smoothly. For instance: Tip #1 (which I may have come to learn a bit late in the game) for a smoother finish look around the edges of sleeves and dresses use a slip stitch around the final row of the piece. The sleeve on the right is the sleeve with the slip stitch. The one on the left is not and it leaves a definite mark at the end of the row.  Let me know your thoughts about it or if you have any other suggestions to benefit all you lovely crochet-ers...
